Itinerary: 2 Days from Ouarzazate to Merzouga Desert

  1. Day 1

    Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud then to Merzouga

    Your 2 Days Ouarzazate to Merzouga Desert Tour begins after breakfast as we leave Ouarzazate and follow the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Along the way, we’ll pass through the beautiful Valley of Roses and enjoy views of traditional villages, palm groves, and dramatic desert landscapes before reaching the spectacular Todra Gorges.

    We’ll take time to explore the gorge on foot before continuing towards Erfoud, famous for its fossils and date production. From there, the landscape gradually changes as we approach Merzouga and the impressive Erg Chebbi dunes.

    In the afternoon, you’ll meet your camel guide and begin your Sahara adventure. Ride across the golden dunes while watching the sunset from the top of the sand dunes before arriving at your desert camp.

    Once at the camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and spend the evening around the campfire with local music. Later, relax under the clear Sahara sky and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the desert.

  2. Day 2

    Merzouga – Rissani – Tazarine – Draa Valley – Agdz then Ouarzazate

    Wake up early to watch the spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you can return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4, depending on your preference, before meeting your driver and continuing the journey.

    Today we take a different route through southeastern Morocco, passing through Rissani, the historic heart of the Tafilalt region, followed by Tazarine and N’Kob. The scenery changes constantly, with rocky plateaus, palm groves, small villages, and dramatic mountain landscapes along the way.

    We’ll then reach the magnificent Draa Valley, home to one of Morocco’s most impressive palm oases. After enjoying the scenery, we’ll cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tnifift Pass before arriving back in Ouarzazate in the afternoon.
