Itinerary: 9 days Morocco Tour From Tangier

1. Day 1

   Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes

   Your 9 Days Morocco Desert Tour from Tangier begins with pickup from your hotel, riad, port, or another agreed location in Tangier. Leave the city behind and travel through the scenic Rif Mountains towards Chefchaouen, one of Morocco’s most beautiful mountain towns.

   Spend the afternoon exploring the famous blue medina. Walk through its narrow streets, discover small squares, traditional shops, and beautiful viewpoints while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the town. After your visit, continue towards Fes, arriving later in the day.

2. Day 2

   Fes sightseeing

   After breakfast, meet your local guide and discover the historic and cultural heart of Fes. Explore the ancient Medina, with its maze of narrow streets, traditional markets, artisan workshops, historic schools, and impressive architecture.

   Your guide will introduce you to the history and traditions of the city as you explore some of its most important landmarks. Later, enjoy panoramic views over Fes before returning to your riad or hotel. The rest of the evening is free to relax or explore the city independently.

3. Day 3

   Fes – Middle Atlas Mountains – Midelt – Errachidia – Erfoud – Merzouga

   After breakfast, leave Fes and begin your journey towards the Sahara. Travel through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains, passing forests and mountain landscapes before reaching Midelt, where you can stop for lunch.

   Continue through Errachidia and the spectacular Ziz Valley, with its palm groves and dramatic scenery. Travel onwards through Erfoud before reaching Merzouga and the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes.

   In the afternoon, meet your camel guide and begin your trek across the golden dunes. Enjoy the changing colors of the desert as the sun sets before reaching your Sahara camp. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner and spend time around the campfire beneath the stars.
   In Merzouga, you’ll meet your camel guide and embark on a camel ride to explore the enchanting dunes. Towards the evening, you’ll witness a breathtaking sunset over the majestic sand dunes, followed by an incredible night spent under the starry sky at a Sahara camp. This will be an experience of a lifetime.

4. Day 4

   Merzouga Desert Experience

   Wake early to enjoy the spectacular Sahara sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, continue exploring the Merzouga desert region by vehicle.

   Visit a traditional nomadic community and learn more about life in the desert. Continue to Khamlia, a small village known for its traditional Gnawa music, where you can enjoy a local musical performance.

   After lunch, continue discovering the surrounding desert landscapes before returning to Merzouga. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert and take time to relax after your adventure.

5. Day 5

   Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

   After breakfast, leave Merzouga and begin your journey towards the Dades Valley. Your first stop will be Rissani, one of the historic towns of southeastern Morocco. Continue through the Tafilalt Oasis, passing palm groves and desert landscapes on your way towards Tinghir.

   Arrive in the Todra Gorge, where you can walk between the spectacular canyon walls and enjoy the impressive scenery. After exploring the gorge, continue through the beautiful landscapes of the Dades Valley, passing traditional villages, dramatic rock formations, and scenic mountain roads.

   Arrive in the Dades Valley in the afternoon and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the region.
   After lunch, we’ll continue on to Boumalne Dades and visit the Amridel Kasbah en route to Skoura. As we journey towards Ouarzazate, we’ll make a stop to explore the Telouat Kasbah before continuing towards the charming village of Ait ben Haddou, where we’ll spend the night in a beautiful local hotel. This will undoubtedly be a memorable experience that you’ll cherish for years to come.

6. Day 6

   Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

   After breakfast, leave the Dades Valley and continue towards Ouarzazate, traveling through the Skoura Oasis and the beautiful landscapes of southern Morocco.

   Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most famous historic sites. Explore the ancient fortified village, walk through its narrow streets, and admire its traditional earthen architecture. You will also have time to learn about its history and its connection with international cinema.

   After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, continue towards Marrakech, crossing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and valleys along the way, with opportunities for scenic stops and photographs.

   Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon or evening, where you can check into your accommodation and relax after the journey.

7. Day 7

   Exploring Marrakech

   After breakfast, meet your local guide and begin your sightseeing tour of Marrakech. Explore the historic Medina and discover its traditional streets, markets, palaces, gardens, and important monuments.

   Continue towards the famous main square and surrounding souks, where you can experience the lively atmosphere of the city and browse traditional Moroccan handicrafts.

8. Day 8

   Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat

   After breakfast, leave Marrakech and travel towards Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city. Upon arrival, visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the country’s most recognizable landmarks, beautifully positioned beside the Atlantic Ocean.

   After exploring Casablanca, continue towards Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Arrive in the city and enjoy some free time to relax or explore depending on your arrival time.

9. Day 9

   Rabat – Asilah – Tangier

   After breakfast, explore some of the most important landmarks of Rabat, including Chellah, the Kasbah of the Udayas, and the Hassan Tower.

   Continue north along the Atlantic coast towards Asilah, a charming coastal town known for its whitewashed streets, artistic atmosphere, and beautiful seaside setting. Enjoy some free time to explore before continuing to Tangier.
